Curtains Classified
Curtains have different types that can be classified according to their qualities as heat insulator and light absorber. So if you just see your curtains as the Crewel Curtains that offer great style, then read on and get to know more about curtains at a deeper level.
The first type of curtains is called sheer curtains. These are also known as net curtains. The fabric used in these curtains are thin and thus have very little heat insulation qualities. Sheer curtains are also referred to as privacy curtains due to its screening ability. In daytime, sheer curtains allow people inside the house to see the view outside while people outside the house will have difficulty seeing directly into the home. Another classification is the uncoated curtains which constitutes the majority of curtain types available in the market. Cotton Curtains and polyester curtains belong to this classification. These curtains provide reasonable level of heat insulation, yet are not thick enough to block major amount of sunlight. On the other hand, coated curtains have good light absorption qualities and can block most sunlight from entering the room through the window. Roman Blinds are an adaptation of curtains that can be installed outside the window to provide the home more privacy.
For a more stylish and sophisticated look, curtains of different types, sizes and colors can be combined and used as good window treatment. Roman blinds can also be installed inside the house and combined with curtains to achieve a layered look.
